More Birthday Books
Saturday, September 21st, 2002 17:59My parcel from Amazon arrived yesterday, containing these items:
1) The Kalevala - Finnish mythology, as recommended by![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
nicejody in the Books community.
2) The Golden Bough - an anthropology/mythology classic.
3) Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino - also recommended by someone in the Books community (I can't remember who). I have several of IC's books & enjoyed them all, so I'm looking forward to this one.
4) The Sea Road by Margaret Elphinstone - a retelling of events from the Icelandic sagas, recommended by several people on my holiday in Iceland in July.
I've still got £25 of Amazon vouchers left, but I may spend them on a couple of DVDs rather than more books.
