Miscellany
Saturday, January 25th, 2003 16:011 - I finally decided to use pictures of silent film stars as user pics for my LJ dream diary. It took me ages to work out how to resize them in iPhoto - for some reason you have to pretend you are exporting them to a web page before it will let you change the height and width.
2 - "Gloriana, or the Unfulfill'd Queen" has narrowly beaten '"Five Quarters of the Orange" in the finals of the vote for the Motley Fool Book Club's February read (phew !). Out of the 8 books nominated, Five Quarters appealed to me least, so if it had won I wouldn't have joined in this time. Gloriana was my favourite out of all the nominations, after my suggestion was unfortunately defeated in the first round of votes. I popped out to Waterstone's after lunch to pick up a copy of Gloriana, so I'll be ready to start reading on the 1st.
3 - Tomorrow is cinema day for me. I've bought a ticket to see "Chicago" at lunchtime and then I'll be going on to see "The Hidden Fortress" at Broadway in the afternoon. I must try to drag myself out of bed early enough to go for a gym session and a swim first though, as sitting in the cinema is just as much couch-potato behaviour as watching tv.
