Saturday, May 10th, 2003 13:39This morning I went over to West Bridgford, only to find the roads full of football fans, going to see Forest in the Division 1 play-offs. Since moving offices in January, I no longer have lunch with a group of friends who are mainly football fans, so I am totally out of touch with the progress of Forest, the Rams, the Stags & Darlington. I vaguely knew that it was play-off weekend, but I hadn't realised that Forest were in the play-offs. I think they must be playing Sheffield United, as one of the cars that passed the bus had a couple of Blades scarves hanging out of the windows.
Anyway, I decided that I would wait until the match had started before catching the bus back, so I did a trawl of the charity shops on the Avenue. I bought a copy of "Tea with the Black Dragon" for 59p at Oxfam, which was surprisingly cheap, compared to most of the other books they had. I'm not sure if I have read it before a long time ago, or whether I am mixing it up with something else with Chinese mythology elements.
