In the MF Book Club board, someone pointed out that "Poor Things" is the 13th monthly selection of the Book Club, which means that we've seen a complete year since the Book Club was started, with Poor Things starting the second year. So he thought it might be interesting to try and come up with a 'Book Club Book of the Year' based on the first 12 rounds (14 books, as two months included separate fiction & non-fiction books).

The Nominations:
Matthew Kneale for English Passengers
Glen Duncan for I, Lucifer
Michael Moorcock for Gloriana
Keri Hulme for The Bone People
Simon Singh for The Code Book (non-fiction)
P.G.Wodehouse for Eggs, Beans and Crumpets
Haruki Murakami for The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle
Connie Willis for Doomsday Book
Yann Martel for Life of Pi
Julian Rathbone for Kings of Albion
Alexander McCall Smith for No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency
Monica Ali for Brick Lane
Oliver Postgate for Seeing Things: An Autobiography (non-fiction)
