New Year's resolutions update
Sunday, February 1st, 2004 10:22One whole month gone and how am I doing? Have I kept any of my resolutions at all?
1 - Don't buy any books. The only exception I will allow myself is buying books to read for the book club, if I can't get them from the library. Apart from spending the book tokens I got for Christmas (which doesn't count), the only book I bought was The Woman in Black by Susan Hill for the MF Book Club (so that doesn't count either).
2 - Have a non-fiction book on the go at all times. Two read in January - a good start
3 - Learn Spanish. Abject Failure. I haven't started yet.
4 - Meditate every day. Mediocre. It's been a tough month, but I have been meditating occasionally. I haven't hit the target of meditating every day by a long chalk.
5 - Gym & swim twice a week. Another abject failure. I was spending too much time at work and was too shattered when I wasn't at work. What is the point of forking out for gym membership if you never go?
