Saturday Afternoon in the Pub
Monday, May 24th, 2004 19:03Saturday's BookCrossing meet-up organised by
rachels_ratty was fun. A dozen BookCrossers from Nottingham, Derby and further afield spent the afternoon in the upstairs bar at Weatherspoons Pub in the Market Square. We drank alcohol, ate Green & Black chocolate, chatted, swapped books and successfully avoided the FA Cup Final. I took all my available BC books with me and only came home with 3 books, which was very good going.
We left a few books in the ladies and gents at the pub, and several of them had already been taken by the time we left.
olliebear28 and
akalucycat took the left-over books home with them, as they are going to the Leeds meet-up in a couple of weeks and will pass them on there.
Final Score
books out - 23 (good)
books in - 3 (v. good)
chocolate eaten - lots (bad)
cider drunk - 2 or 2.5 pints (okay spread over 5 hours)
