Film Reviews
"13 Going On 30"
I thought this was a very sweet film, mainly because of Jennifer Garner.
"Before Sunset"
I saw "Before Sunrise" when it came out, but that was 9 years ago, so I couldn't remember much about it. Having seen the follow-up, I'd now like to see the original film again. In the follow-up, Jesse is in Paris promoting a book based on their first encounter. Celine turns up at the book shop having seen a poster advertising the talk and they only have a short time before Jesse has to fly back to the States. It's a short film, only 1 hour 20 minutes, and takes place in real time, as they walk through Paris discussing the book, their careers, the state of the world and why they didn't meet up in Vienna as they had promised, before moving on to the subject of their love lives. I usually think of myself as a cynic, but I guess I must be a romantic at heart, because given the way Jesse smiles at the end of the film . . .
"New York Minute"
Mary-Kate and Ashley play twins who tangle with the Triads and repair their damaged relationship. My only excuse for seeing this movie is that I was on a ferry and it passed an hour and a half.
