I finished reading "I, Lucifer" for the Motley Fool book club on Thursday, and on Friday I wrote my book review at lunchtime and e-mailed it home, ready to post to the Book Club board that evening. On Saturday, I mailed my copy of "I, Lucifer" to PinkyBananaBrain (another member of the book club), so that she could read it. I registered it on Book Crossing and explained to PBB that she should pass it on when she finishes it, rather than posting it back to me. she e-mailed today to say that she received it this morning, which is amazing since I only sent it second class. So now I know that there's no point wasting money sending parcels first class!
Market Researchers enter the 21st Century.
The last time I let the market researchers on Lister Gate drag me inside to answer their questions, I had a big surprise. Instead of them asking me a million and one questions and writing down the answers on a sheaf of papers, they sat me down in front of a laptop with a cup of coffee and left me to it!
Unconvention
I ordered my tickets for Unconvention 2003 today. So now I've just got to remember to keep an eye on the site until they put up the hotel details.
Highlander
The new issue of Fortean Times had a very amusing article about the possibility that the Immortals from the movie/tv series Highlander could be true. After all, there are often pieces in the papers about foundling babies, men carrying swords, decapitated bodies, people coming back to life after they were thought to have died and lightning strikes. The author gave an example of a Quickening that she had discovered in the ancient Sanskrit epic "The Mahabharata", which had all the elements found in Highlander!
