Day-dreaming
Sunday, May 25th, 2003 00:21My 'running away to a new life abroad' day-dreams have a new location. "Get a New Life" is a BBC2 show in which professional relocators help families to move abroad. In the latest programme, a family from Yorkshire moved to Canada, to a small town half-an-hour's drive from Calgary.
Even though the town was described as being in the commuter belt, it wasn't anything like Surrey! The family rented a house that backed onto a nature reserve, had deer wandering past their windows and were told that they would have to watch out for bears & cougars.
I am in love. I want to pack up and go now. Oh, to be able to live in such a wild place, while still being within easy reach of a big city!
PS: Finally a post I can use the 'quixotic' mood for.
