I don't know what I've done to my shoulder, but it bloody hurts.
On Wednesday evening it started hurting and on Thursday I was wondering if I'd broken my collar bone, although I don't know how I could have since I haven't been falling off any horses or playing rugby recently. The only thing I can think of is that maybe it got jolted while I was standing up on the bus on the way home holding onto the pole, but if so I didn't notice, so it certainly didn't hurt at the time.
On Thursday night I couldn't sleep on my left side as when I rolled over I got a sharp, 'stop that at once and don't do it again' type pain in my collar bone. On Friday the pain was more in my shoulder and it hurt to get dressed, but during the evening I thought it was getting better. However when I went to bed, it was hurting a lot whatever position I was in and I thought I might have to sleep in my chair, but eventually I managed to get almost comfortable if I lay on my back and kept my left arm in a certain position.
This morning I was surprised to find it didn't hurt very much, but as the day's gone on, it has been hurting more and more again. My neck hurts a bit now, but that's just stiffness because I'm holding my left arm awkwardly. And of course, being extremely left-handed isn't helping, as I automatically do just about everything with my left hand and at the moment even reaching to pick up the telephone is a bad idea. I think I'll ring for a doctor's appointment on Monday if it isn't better by then.
