On Friday there was some good news about our project at work, so I was feeling relatively perky over the weekend. I can tell I've been stressed recently, as I haven't been buying anything. Not that I'm a shopaholic or anything, but there were only two items on last month's credit card bill, my monthly ISP payment and a hairdressers bill.

But this weekend I bought three new bags, even though I only actually needed one to replace the bag I take to work which was on its last legs. My new bag for work is a metallic bronze coloured shoulder bag (and as it has sections, I may even be able to find things in it when I need them). I also bought a small khaki nylon shoulder bag to use when I only want to take a few items out with me. Both these bags were from Muji - I like their stuff as it is plain, functional and hard-wearing. And then I went to John Lewis and bought a funky bright orange handbag with black patent-leather trim and handles and a shocking pink lining. Just because it was pretty and I wanted it : )

I also checked out the times of the trains to Birmingham and today I booked the afternoon of Fri 16th off work, so I can travel mid-afternoon rather than in the rush hour. I'll buy my train ticket this week and then I'll be all set for the Book Crossing meet-up. I've got 7 Availables to take with me and I'll probably have got through a few more of my TBRs by then. I also did a trawl of my bookshelves yesterday and found half a dozen more novels that I don't want any more. I'll check my non-fiction shelves later.

Watched this weekend - The Weakest Link Wimbledon special. Very amusing, as Anne Robinson tutted very loudly whenever anyone asked her to repeat a question and flirted with Boris Becker throughout.

And finally, the BBC are going to adapt the final three HHGG books ("Life, The Universe and Everything", "So Long and Thanks For All the Fish" and "Mostly Harmless") for radio, with Douglas Adams playing a part that he recorded before his death. I remember listening to the original series with my parents and brother and sister and we all loved it. Radio is a great medium for SF as your imagination isn't limited by budget or poor special effects (well mine isn't anyway).
