Frosted mouse
Sunday, May 28th, 2006 20:53It must be at least a year since I had my hair dyed. Since then I seem to have lost my 'get up and go' and every month I thought I must have my hair dyed, and every month went by without me doing so. Yesterday I was finally fed up with how long and straggly my hair had got recently, and went to have a cut. My hair is now above my shoulders and the last few inches of faded copper were cut off and swept away.
I haven't been my natural colour for 12 years or more, and it's not nice. I've been bright red, copper, auburn. black with red streaks, black on top with red under neath, but never ever a brunette. My desire to be a red-head started at an early age, fueled by my great-aunt who had also always wanted to be a red-head, but hadn't dared to until her mother died, and also by a BBC dramatisation of "Anne of Green Gables" back when I was in primary school. I know Anne didn't like her hair colour, but I thought it was lovely.
So now I'm back to my natural dull boring mouse brown hair with enough silver grey threads scattered through it that it looks as though I've been standing out in the cold too long, and am covered in frost. And it's not nice, not nice at all, so I'm feeling rather blah.
