A Mardy About Migraines
Friday, March 7th, 2003 18:31As our big new project got underway at work, the project team moved to a different building in January. Ever since we moved I have had excessive amounts of headaches and migraines. Then on Monday we all moved desks as some more people were joining the team and since then it's been even worse.
It's a windowless office and the air conditioning is rubbish - it feels stuffy all the time. The lighting is the worst thing though, and now that I've moved desks I've got a ceiling light directly behind my PC, which is in my field of view virtually all the time. So this week, I've had constant headaches and on my day's annual leave on Wednesday I spent all day in bed with a migraine, instead of enjoying being off work!
I have raised my concerns with the boss, and next week I am going to demand to move desks, but I'm not sure if anywhere in that room will be much better. I can't stand being hot and stuffy, and at this rate I'll have to wear my sunglasses all the time to avoid migraines from the light. I'm not the only one to have this problem with the office, as the guy who moved into the desk I was in up to last week, says that he has been getting a lot of headaches since he's been in that desk.
I am so annoyed about wasting my day off lying in bed with a wet flannel over my eyes and throwing up every now and then. I had planned to go to see "Bowling for Columbine" at the cinema, and Wednesday was the last day it was on, so I've missed it now.
