Saturday, May 24th, 2003 23:32I have just finished watching the Eurovision Song Contest, and the UK entry came last. None of the other 25 countries thought that the song was worth even a single point.
Oh the shame of it !
Actually I'm not surprised, as the UK song was utter pants. Strangely it seemed as if it was the song itself that was flat and tuneless, although Jemini's performance of it was not good either (massive understatement).
The Turkish song which won was memorable (although I'm not sure about the rap towards the end of it) and they had chosen one of their best singers to perform it, rather than a total unknown. Their choreography was good too.
The Russian entry was by Tatu, and every time they were awarded any points the audience booed. I'm not sure whether that was because of the Latvians' anti-Russian feelings, or Tatu's antics in the lead-up to the contest - probably a bit of both.
