kittiwake: (travel)
I've just bought a DAB digital radio, so now I can listen to all the old comedy shows on BBC 7. Of course I now have access to many more digital radio channels, but BBC7 is likely to be the one I listen to most. So far I've listened to a documentary about Round the Horne on Saturday night and a dramatisation of one of the Adrian Mole books, amongst others.

My parents are good at taking hints. I e-mailed them a link to the Strawberry-Rhubarb pie recipe last week and what do you think we had for pudding when I went round to their house for lunch today? It was very tasty and the strawberries definitely gave it an added something.

I've also started my first book ring on Book Crossing, for "Fairy Paths and Spirit Lives". It's a book I definitely want to keep so I wouldn't have registered it on Book Crossing at all if it hadn't been for someone on BKUK noticing it in the 'currently reading' line of my sig and asking if they could borrow it. So now it's on a short journey round a three-person book ring and I'm sure it will come home to me safely in the end.

Finally, I've just booked my summer holiday to Western Canada and it's the first time I'll ever have been out of Europe, so I'm very excited. So if anyone who can recommend any Canadian authors (except Margaret Atwood) or specific books I'd like to do some reading beforehand to get me in the mood.
