Diet & Exercise Report
Sunday, July 20th, 2003 17:24On Saturday, I was about to leave the house to go shopping, when my internal bossy voice stopped me. "You lazy cow", it said. "Don't you dare leave the house without your kit. I forbid you to cross the threshold again until you've been to the gym."
So I went to the gym, where of course, I dropped my inhaler on the floor in the changing room and ricked my back while picking it up (ouch). I only did about 2/3 of the weight-loss program on the cross-trainer, before stopping due to twinges in my lower back. So I went for a swim and was able to do 30 lengths of the pool because that doesn't stress my back so much. I finished off with a sauna.
Today, I went to the gym again. I did the whole cross-trainer program again plus weights, concentrating on my arms and legs and avoiding the weight machines that exercise your back, as I was still feeling some twinges.
In the last week I have stuck to the Atkins diet most of the time and lost 2 lb.
