Holiday Preparations

kittiwakeThe presents that I needed to send overseas have been bought and posted:
1) To my aunt who lives in Spain as she isn't coming over to England this year.
2) To a friend currently living in Brazil - she is working for a charity in the slums so she deserves a treat for Christmas.
3) An alt.callahans Secret Santa gift to Sparrow in Oregon - unfortunately she doesn't seem to have posted to the Secret Santa ideas thread, so I didn't have much to go on in choosing the present. My alt.callahans Secret Santa gift arrived earlier this week (also from Oregon, but a different town) and I am determined to save it to open at Christmas.
The e-mail telling me who to send a book to for the BookCrossingUK Yahoo Group Not So Secret Father Christmas arrived yesterday, so I've got to choose a suitable book and get that sent off this week.
So far I've bought the main presents for my brother and my sister's partner and a few stocking fillers. I still need to get main presents for my parents, my other aunt, my sister and sister-in-law, nephew and niece and some more stocking fillers.
Having looked at my sister's Amazon wish list to get some ideas, I can see that the Ancient Roman murder mystery by Steven Saylor that I bought for her birthday was a good choice. Last time we went shopping together she bought the second book in the series and now the rest of them are on her wish list.
I could do with buying myself something new to wear for the holidays, but I'll have to leave that to the last minute, once I know how much I've spent on presents.
