I have almost finished my Christmas shopping - just one present to go. I wrapped everything when I got home from work today, so there is now a large pile of presents wrapped in 'happy penguin' paper on the chair in my bedroom. My last buy was a bubble sword for Alexander's stocking that I saw on a market stall on Saturday. It is a plastic sword that you fill with washing-up liquid and water, and when you wave it around it produces enormous bubbles. As soon as I saw it I knew he'd love one, and I rang my sister to see if she wanted one for Alison's kids, so I ended up buying two.

I had a look round the Christmas craft market in the Old Market Square, and let my sister know that I'd love some of the paper-based jewelry from the stall next to the carousel. There's such a good range of stalls this year that I might go round them again next Saturday and buy some more stocking fillers. I've printed off a list of the birth stones for each month, as one idea I had is to buy a polished stone for everyone's stockings. I'll have a go on the carousel too!

I have also bought my Christmas present to myself - some Hugo Boss Deep Red perfume and a double DVD of The Wicker Man, with both the original version and the director's cut as well as a good selection of extras. I'm going to have to use a lot of self-control to prevent myself watching them before Christmas! Maybe I'll buy a DVD player in the January sales, so that I can watch them in comfort on TV, rather than on my Mac.
